Hi rollins, welcome here Smile

The issue is probably related to the fact that you have to provide WapcamLet with the exact URL that returns an image. WapcamLet expects an image because it cannot handle all proprietary webcams on the market.

I guess the manufacturer's IPCamTool only needs to reaches the camera as it knows how to communicate with it.
For example, a successful adress would be:
http://mydns.dnsalias.org/getSnapShot
returning a JPEG.

When using WapcamLet, if you press '*' key while trying to connect, you should see error messages, my guess is that the content-type is wrong.

To resolve the issue, you have to check your cameras specs in order to find the right URL that replies with an image file.

Hey,

'getSnapShot' was just an example. The tough part is now to find out the actual extension.
Some manufacturers provide them directly in their product's support section. Some others don't but still it is possible to discover them by reading the HTML code of the page provided by the camera or by sniffing the network.

Some other finally don't even bother to provided a jpeg snapshot function. The camera sends a continous stream of Motion Jpeg towards some activeX that makes it pretty hard to reverse engineer.

It all depends on the camera you bought. In some cases, I could help users who provided me a time-limited access to their webcam to remotly find out the right extension. You can have a look at it in the forum - but it most probably will be in french.

Salut Rollins,

http://<dnslaiasaccount>.dnsalias.org/snapshot.jpg?user=<username>&pwd=<password>

http://XXXXXX.dnsalias.org/snapshot.jpg?user=<username>&pwd=<password>

username :

password :

Authnetification : NO

Wapcamserver Format : JPEG

Wapcamserver Format : NO

Delay : 5000

http://XXXXXX.dnsalias.org/snapshot.jpg?user=<username>&pwd=<password>?id=Wclet

?id=Wclet c'est quoi ??

Cordialement
